We met with Shelby Pease, Sales Associate of the Atlanta History Center, on a beautiful sunny afternoon at the Caribou Coffee in Buckhead. We were so excited to learn more about the newly named Atlanta History Center Midtown location. A few weeks ago, we attended a marketing event with Shelby at the Atlanta History Center Midtown location.
When we first walked in, we instantly felt this “cool, historic, city” vibe that we know clients will soon obsess over. This space is unique to other Midtown venues because it truly allows the client to personalize the space however they would like. We can’t wait to be back soon!
SP: Skinny Pop Aged White Popcorn
SP: Yes, I have a Beagle Lab mix who is 6 years old and only 35 pounds.
SP: Blue Bloods. I love crime shows!
SP: I am from Athens, Georgia. Go Dawgs!
SP: I worked at Old Navy. I never went the food beverage side when I was younger because I’d rather get free clothes, Shelby laughs.
SP: My little sister is adopted from South Korea. She is 11 and we adopted her when she was 9 months old.
SP: We’re high school sweethearts. Junior year. He actually proposed to me at Cinderella’s Castle in Disney during breakfast!
SP: To not fret over little things and to handle things in a better way. You can’t always make everything happen, so some things you have to let go. For example, you can’t control the weather [during a wedding]!
SP: Coffee. I am one of those people that loves the taste of really good coffee. I could have a shot of espresso at 4 in the afternoon and still go to bed tonight. I’m kind of a coffee snob.
SP: Science, specifically biology. I always thought I was going to be a nurse and be an OBGYN technician.
SP: I would say my mom. My mom and I are really close. Seeing how she raised us is how I want to raise my kids.
SP: Jeans. If I don’t have an event, I’m in jeans.
SP: Diffusers. I have one at home and on my desk.
SP: Going home to sit on the couch and drinking a glass of wine. My husband works for Atlanta United in ticket operations, so it is very rare we are home at the same time on the weekend. My friends say I’m so old because I never want to go out when I have a weekend off!
SP: I really like my smile… and my eyes.
SP: To be super chipper right when I wake up in the morning. I’m not a morning person at all unless I know I’m going on vacation that day!
SP: My wedding ring.
SP: I was really close with my grandfather, and he died when I was in 5th grade. My dad has always been a pastor and he talked about my grandpa during the wedding. It was really meaningful.
SP: Elephant. I got to see elephants up-close and personal in South Africa. It was amazing.
SP: That’s a hard one. I really like Bangkok Station. Lunch is really good there. It’s cheap and you get a lot! I also like the Indian Restaurant, Bhojanic. And for pizza, Antico.
SP: I love Chick-Fil-A. I could eat it 24/7.
SP: Peppermint
SP: Ed Sheeran
SP: White sangria
SP: Anything Mexican
SP: The Notebook
SP: Strawberry
SP: Rome, I’ve been three times. I’m going to Paris for the first time in two weeks.
SP: I am the only Sales Associate of our Midtown campus, but I also sell for Buckhead.
SP: I would say the all-day meeting corporate people. There, we can do day-time events whereas Buckhead can’t. It’s still so new, so the space is still growing into other events like weddings and rehearsal dinners. Its capacity is 120 guests.
SP: We offer an upper and lower lawn that is completely gated. People feel safe there. It’s a spacious, historic space. And you’re getting four event spaces in one; it’s very versatile.
SP: That we do events. I’ve been walking around door by door to market and 95% of people don’t know that it is an event space!
SP: What have other people done? It’s hard to say that because when I came on for the Atlanta History Center Midtown, there were only 5 events that were held at the Midtown location.
SP: To not pay attention to everyone else’s opinions. The only thing that matters is what the bride and groom want.
SP: Seeing the bride enter the wedding and seeing the groom’s face. Also, I love when the bride and groom see the reception space for the first time. It was one of my favorite parts of my wedding as well!
